Rick Riordan is a #1 New York Times bestselling author, best known for The Percy Jackson and the Olympians, The Kane Chronicles, and the Heroes of Olympus series.

Mr. Riordan wrote the first book of the Clues; The Maze of Bones. He has also written small installments in The Black Book of Buried Secrets, and in Vespers Rising. He is a Janus author.

Rick Riordan lives in San Antonio, Texas with his wife Becky and two kids, Haley and Patrick. Besides begining the 39 Clues he has written the Tres Navarre series for adults, and the other series mentioned above. He atteded Alamo Height High School and went to the College at North Texas state. But he transferred to University of Texas. Riordan graduated with a double major in History and Engish. He student taught at San Antonio Independant School District. In 1998 Rick won a Shamus award and an Anthony award. A year later he recieved an Edgar Award. In 2008 he won a Mark Twain Award and in '09 he recieved  another Mark Twain and a Rebecca Caudill. In his free time Riordan likes to read, swim, play guitar and video games with Haley and Patrick. He also likes to travel with his family.
